i kind of like that adventure time is making finn really awkward and unlikable. how many shows let that happen to their protagonists? i know ppl are pissed about it but it’s a pretty natural thing for a heartbroken teenager to act really fucking stupid when it comes to his ex, so we’ll see where it goes in the last half of the season
I don’t think they’re making Finn unlikable (at least not intentionally?), because he’s still significantly more charming than a real 13 year old boy. Haha. But I DO think it’s really great that they let him fuck up, and then they make him deal with the consequences of whatever stupid shit he did. He doesn’t get the girl, things aren’t fixed up perfectly at the end of the episode, etc. He just fuckin’ blew it and they’re having him cope with it, which is awesome. I wish more shows did stuff like that. In general I think AT handles relationships in a more realistic way (they’re not always so neatly packaged; they’re awkward, and you fumble, and sometimes you forge a letter written by the Ice King to get your girlfriend to fight him ‘cause you had a weird symbolic sex dream), which is actually kind of cool!
the genderfluid kid down the block who goes by finn some days and fionna others
James Baxter — Moses from Prince of Egypt [x]
THE ANIMATION IN THIS MOVIE IS SO PERF UGH
What you mean to say is that James Baxter is perfect <3 The man is an animation god/legend. FOR OBVIOUS REASONS. In fact, the man is especially renown for his work on “Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron”
That’s why in an episode of Adventure Time, there is an incredibly well animated horse who rolls around on his ball and says his name “Jaaaaaaaaames Baxter!” and brings cheer to everyone around him. Finn and Jake become jealous of his ability to make people smile and try to mimic him, find their own way of spreading joy and then finally accept that sometimes you can’t be as good as some other people at some things. It was a commentary by Pendleton Ward about how he always wanted to be a legend just like James, but in the end you have to do you own thing and achieve greatness in your own way.
James Baxter voiced the horse himself, too.
No wonder that horse was so well animated
Disclaimer: I’m well aware that a lot of folks probably already knew all of what I’m going to say here. This doesn’t apply to you if that’s the case. I do hope that it sums up everything nicely for you, though.I am repeatedly astounded by the naivete of Adventure Time fans when it comes to any information regarding Princess Bubblegum. Over and over again, people have seemed utterly shocked and amazed at “reveals” of information that has been more than clear for a very long time. And even worse, people take this new information and conclude that Bubblegum is evil, or deserving of some other needless criticism. This character is more awesome, complex, and strong than AT fans, even those who love her, seem to acknowledge.
Let’s stop being in denial and lay down some facts (and theories too).

Forging Finn’s Golden Sword
Have you watched Tony Swatton create a real-life Finn sword? You have? Maybe you need to watch it again. Thanks, Man at Arms.
Aaaand here it is! Thanks for your patience, everybody!
(Sidenote: yeah, Simon and Marcy are totally squatting in an abandoned house.)

Prisma and Cake.
I did this because I’m pretty sure they will never make “Fiona the human” and “Cake the cat”.
No doubt they’re must talking about jerk guys.
The song that plays during the boss fight with Marceline in Adventure Time: Hey Ice King! Why’d Ya Steal Our Garbage?!! has the distinction of being the only Marceline song that I actually enjoy on its own separate from the narrative purpose it typically serves and that’s pretty cool
